Equipment News |

Ignition parts are ordered for the alpine and should
be here some time this week. PB final drive should
be here today and Royden will be installing it on
Monday. He also replaced the belt on the Yamaha
(couldn't find anything else wrong) and supplied a
spare belt and also 8 liters of oil for the
snowmobiles.
Monday evening I
want to rescue the alpine.

Grooming Notice |

It's official
All 3 grooming
machines are on the fritz!
Beginner skiers
should stay on well broken trails near the warming hut.
Everyone feel free to walk down hills. There's a light ice
crust under 3 inches of fresh snow plus 6 inches of
ungroomed snow on top!
Let's all do a
mechanics dance!

Adult Ski Night Is Back |

The Adult ski night is back on Wednesdays again starting at
7 PM . Beginner and intermediate lessons are available or
just come for a fun ski under the lights.
Sessions start immediately but there will be no lessons
during the week between Christmas and New Year. Think Snow
everyone!

| Snow Valley - Alcan Marathon |

| The marathon is a go for Sunday, 5 February. Start Times: Those planning to ski 15 km or less will start at 11 am. Plan on being in the start area an hour ahead of that time to register and pick up a bib. Those planning to ski the 50 or 30 km events will start at 10:00 am. Registration & bib pick up will take place at 9:30. The 4th BC RABBITS/BUNNIES session will take place on SUNDAY at the time of the marathon with distances of 1 to 5 km being skied depending on age/experience. |

| The 1st BC Rabbits/Bunnies session scheduled for January 7 has been postponed due to lack of snow. The session has be rescheduled for 10:00am January 14th 2006 at the Onion Lake Ski Trails. |

| Wind-up Potluck Social |

Wind-up Potluck Social is to take place at the Onion Lake Ski Lodge Thursday, March 10, from 5-8 pm. We'll actually sit down to eat around 6ish.
Bring your favourite dish, cutlery and conversation. There will also be a fire for roasting hotdogs, marshmallows and making smors. Its a relaxing evening for everyone in the family with some after dinner games are being organized for those young at heart.
Bring your ideas of where you'd like to see your ski club grow over the near future as you'll have an opportunity to share them with the club's executive. Any questions, please call Colin Hamilton at 635-2272. |

| Canadian Championships |

 Haley Kuppers is once again representing BC at the Canadian Championships this week in Prince George. Racing started on Tuesday with an individual start race followed by a pursuit on Wednesday. Check out Haleys results from the two day event here.
The racing continued Friday with the 1km classic sprint races. Check out Haley's 5th place finish here. Without a doubt the best result for a cross country skier from Kitimat or Terrace ever at the Canadian Championships.
The final race scheduled for Sunday was cancelled due to warm temperatures and lack of snow.

| The 25th Annual Alcan Snow Marathon was worth the extra wait. Clear skies
greeted over 30 participants who came from all over northern BC. Full results are available here. |

| Haley Kuppers and Cheryl Brown represented the Snow Valley Nordics at the BC
Championships this past weekend in 100 Mile House. Conditions were good for the for Saturdays interval start classic race. Check out Haley's results here and Cheryl's results here. |

New Lights For Night Skiing |

This summer lights have been installed on the Beaver and Snowbound trails. The Onion Lake Ski Trails now have 5km of lit trails for night skiing. Many thanks to the many volunteers, local businesses and organizations that have assisted with this project.
